Wing Vilma is a name Milly Coleman has been using since 2017 and has become a major part of her person since its inception. Sourcing fresh sonic ingredients from the world around her and blending experimental field recordings with her one-of-a-kind synth-craft to design robust and dynamic soundscapes that explore the rudimentary elements of rhythm, frequency and tone.

Following the success of her 2021 LP Spirit Practice, Coleman is serving up a collection of synth-driven tracks on Snack Basket – her first EP and musical manifestation of her commitment to creative exploration. The EP is a sound collage-inspired, polyrhythmic IDM score that reaches across the spectrum of frequencies in space and time to fold together elements of organic and synthesized sound, creating familiar yet highly original sound design with movement and intention. Aiming to create intuitive, uninhibited music, the artist crafted the majority of the record with just a laptop and a borrowed OP-1. The result was an infectious and uplifting assemblage of rhythms and tonal textures, poured straight from Wing Vilma’s heart and mind and out into the world as quickly as possible.
